摘要: Aim  The cognitive deficits present in the Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) are not yet well characterized. Attention, considered to be brain mechanism responsible for selection of sensory stimuli, could disturbed DMD, contributing, at least partially, observed global deficit. aim this study was investigate attentional function individuals with DMD. Method  Twenty-five males (mean age 12y; SD 2y 2mo) DMD and 25 healthy 2y) were tested a visuospatial task (Posner computerized test). They instructed respond as quickly possible lateralized visual target stimulus ipsilateral hand. Their attention automatically orientated by peripheral prime or, alternatively, voluntarily central spatially informative cue. Results  main result obtained that effect (sum benefit cost attention) did differ between two groups case automatic (p=0.846) but much larger than comparison voluntary (p<0.001). Interpretation  large exhibited participants seems similar younger children, suggesting disease is associated delayed maturation mechanisms.
