摘要: Grain yields in maize are historically lower those years when above average temperature and below rainfall conditions prevail during the months of July August. This is an implicit expression relative sensitivity reproductive process to heat drought stress. Delay silk emergence, pollen sterility, reduced ear receptivity, kernel abortion have been associated with stress this period. Breeding plants for greater environmental resiliency possible, since tolerance heritable traits. However, conventional breeding has difficult due lack effective, easily measured selection criteria.
