摘要: This study focuses on the role of financial development in economic growth Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European (CESEE) countries post-communist era (1995–2014), which coincides with opening up markets to foreign investors global crisis. We investigate whether CESEE has benefited from presence foreign-owned banks. To this end, we introduce some refined measures control for banks’ strength. Our results challenge idea that bank credit fosters banks are indisputably a positive addition local able foster growth.
