摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for virtualizing port adapter resources such as network interface cards (NICs) used to connect servers packet based networks. Resources offloaded from individual onto a resource virtualization switch. Servers connected the switch using an I/O bus connection share access NICs. Redundancy can be multipathing mechanisms implemented at or high availability Switchover occur between ports on same adapter, separate adapters, switches.
