摘要: A study was conducted to investigate changes in oxidative stress indicators of West African dwarf (WAD) goats at different reproductive stages. There are a total 35 dry does, 30 gravid does first trimester (40–45 days post-mating), 33 second (85–90 days 31 third (135–140 days and 40 postpartum (30–35 days postpartum). Fastened blood samples were collected from all tagged animals serum obtained. Serum assayed for lipid peroxidation, antioxidant activity, glutathione peroxidase, catalase superoxide dismutase, biochemical, glucose, protein, albumin, cholesterol, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate urea, creatinine using standard procedures. Result revealed that intense metabolic associated with late prepartum as pronounced biochemical WAD does. Significant differences found indices across the physiological stages doe except triglyceride low-density lipoprotein. Antioxidant defense is higher early mid-gestation through low peroxidation high activity compared gestation lactation The observed result shows display during owing metabolism. fortification should be employed especially counteract goats.
