摘要: Using a 90 Sr applicator for brachytherapy the reduction of recurrence rates after pterygium excisions has been an effective therapeutic procedure. Accurate knowledge dose being applied to affected area on sclera lacking, and decades inaccurate estimates lens have thus made. Small errors in assumptions which are required make these lead changing exponentially because attenuation beta particles.Monte Carlo simulations used evaluate that now calculation surface rate corresponding determination dose. For ideal applicator, results from this study indicate most radiosensitive areas ranging 8.8 15.5 cGy/s. This range is based different eye dimensions ultimately corresponds distance between germinative epithelium 2–3 mm. Furthermore, conventional 200 cGy threshold whole cataractogenesis questioned predicting complications scleral brachytherapy. The should be studying radiocataractogenesis.
