摘要: RNase P is the endonuclease that removes 5' leader sequences from tRNA precursors. In Eukarya, separate activities exist in nucleus and mitochondria/plastids. Although all enzymes catalyze same reaction, different architectures found Eukarya range ribonucleoprotein (RNP) with a catalytic RNA up to 10 protein subunits single-subunit protein-only (PRORP) enzymes. Here, analysis of phylogenetic distribution RNP PRORP revealed 1) wealth novel RNAs previously unexplored branches 2) are more widespread than appreciated, four five eukaryal supergroups, nuclei and/or organelles. Intriguingly, occurrence seems mutually exclusive genetic compartments modern Eukarya. Our comparative provides global picture evolution diversification throughout
