Acupuncture versus medical treatment for migraine and muscle tension headaches.

摘要: In 48 patients with chronic migraine and muscle tension headaches, a comparison was made between prophylactic course of acupuncture medical treatment. It intended that all should have 3 months both forms treatment, but 19 were unwilling to change from one form prophylaxis the other. Twenty-four 41 improved on acupuncture, improvement being very marked in nine; nine 36 three. Of 29 who changed treatment other, larger proportion preferred A beneficial response more likely when patient had local tender muscular points. The presence depressive features did not preclude satisfactory acupuncture. No major side effects encountered
