摘要: It is well documented that the bark of mesquite (Prosopis spp.) exudes a proteoglycan mucilage (Whistler and Smart 1953) as response to damage cambium by direct means, such insect attack or wounding, physiological stresses indirectly affect vascular cambium, severe water heat (Greenwood Morey 1979). The axial xylem parenchyma ray at sites cambial wounding appear synthesize massive amounts gum which excreted into wound area where it may prevent undue desiccation tissues, thereby enabling formation parenchyma, also ingress pathogens, shown for deposition in other plants (Banko Helton 1972). Indeed, one hypotheses origin arabic (Joseleau Ullman 1990).
