摘要: Contemporary models for the evolution of learning suggest that environmental predictability plays a critical role in whether is expected to evolve particular species, claim originally made over 50 years ago. However, amongst many behavioral scientists who study insect learning, as well neuroscientists brain architecture insects, very different view emerging, namely all animals possessing nervous system should be able learn. More specifically, capacity associative may an emergent property systems such that, whenever selection pressures favor systems, whatever reason, follows ipso facto. One way reconcile these disparate views assumed default evolutionary models, non-learning phenotype, incorrect: The ability learn is, fact, but, under certain conditions, can override ability, resulting hard-wired, or considerably less plastic, responses. Thus, actually conditions which inherent plasticity overridden. Moreover, what have been revealed costs insects may, instead, associated with far more complex cognitive feats than simple – skills researchers are just now beginning reveal.
