Antiferroelectricity and weak ferromagnetism in rare earth doped multiferroic BiFeO3

摘要: Abstract The remanent polarization Pr and magnetization Mr for different Sm-concentrations x in Sm-doped BiFeO3 is investigated using a microscopic model the Green's function technique. For pure with rhombohedral symmetry we obtain hysteresis loop P(E) which typical ferroelectric material. Further increase of (x = 0.16) leads to double loop, an antiferroelectric substance. Sm substitution induces weak ferromagnetic moment at room-temperature. versus show maximum x = 0.05. phase transition temperature TC decreases strongly whereas magnetic TN increases slightly increasing concentration x.
