摘要: The Arable Stewardship Pilot Scheme in England provided farmers with options for creating a range of habitat types on arable land. prescribed methods establishment were derived from previous research, but the outcomes uncertain when applied across two large areas encompassed by scheme. Vegetation was sampled 294 sites representing overwinter stubble, spring fallow, undersown cereals, grass leys, wildlife seed mixtures, conservation headlands, no-fertiliser sown margins, naturally regenerated margins and uncropped cultivated margins. characteristics differences between broadly as predicted. Uncontrolled environmental factors accounted more variation than option at sites, not cover. Creation simple habitats land appears to be achievable agri-environment schemes because general are predictable. At local level, potential effects also need taken into account.
