摘要: Abstract Automotive industry is driven by economic and legislative constraints to increase fuel efficiency reduce CO2-emissions a certain extend. To reach the required threshold values, manufacturers consider waste heat recovery means of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) in passenger cars heavy-duty trucks. This work deals with crucial issue identifying an optimal working fluid which flexible terms application condensing temperature applicable real systems. For this purpose, large-scale screening based on computational chemistry thermodynamic process simulation coupled multi-criteria evaluation. In total, about 72 million chemical substances provided PubChem database are screened more than 3000 promising candidates evaluated considering COSMO-RS data as well constructional, regulatory security aspects. Five fluids identified it shown that these outperform widely discussed like synthetic refrigerants. Even remarkably fact within TOP 100 only twelve have already been reported ORC literature. However, set varies depends configuration (with without mass flow splitting) temperature. general, study demonstrates complete space can reveal unconventional for cycles.
