A combined H3PO4 activation and boron templating process for easy synthesis of highly porous, spherical activated carbons as a superior adsorbent for rhodamine B

摘要: Spherical activated carbons (SACs) with a high surface area of 2729 m2 g−1 and large total pore volume 1.529 cm3 were easily prepared using phosphoric acid activation polymeric precursor in which boron was embedded, followed by washing off the phosphate formed situ base solution. The reaction induced extraction pre-embedded from carbon matrix produced additional pores, this greatly improved textural properties SACs obtained. tested as an adsorbent for bulky rhodamine B molecule, exhibited extremely adsorption capability up to 833 mg at ambient temperature dosage 1 g L−1. isotherms kinetics data showed good fit Langmuir isotherm model pseudo-second-order kinetic model, respectively, is suggestive formation (RB) monolayer on possibly through chemical interactions such ionic or covalent bonds.
