Photoluminescent carbon dots derived from sugarcane molasses: synthesis, properties, and applications

摘要: Carbon dots (C-dots) were prepared through a simple, environmentally friendly hydrothermal method, with the use of sugarcane molasses derived from industrial waste as carbon source. The C-dots characterized via X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and UV-vis absorption well fluorescence spectroscopy. exhibited spherical shape diameter around 1.9 nm, emitted blue photoluminescence quantum yield approximately 5.8%. effects pH, sodium chloride (NaCl), amino acids metal ions on further investigated. Not only was biocompatibility assessed in vitro vivo, but also their bioimaging ability observed MCF-7 cells. effect secondary structure bovine serum albumin (BSA) Additionally, it found that intensity decreased after addition Fe3+ or sunset yellow. Furthermore, underlying mechanism quenching proposed C-dots/sunset yellow system.
