摘要: Traditional measures of plant diversity from phytosociological releves are used to compare floristical richness and between different oak-hornbeam forest stands Thierache (Northern France). Five sets physiognomically similar forests distinguished according the geological substrate: schists sandstones, loess on schists, calcareous rocks, jurassic limestones, cretaceous marls clays. Plant species is investigated at two scale levels: a phytocoenotic level synusial one which supposed partly avoid possible silviculture-related bias. Two pools may be distinguished: non-calcareous one. The shows highest diversity, richness. For each inter-pool pair sets, significantly as well herbaceous or shrubby synusiae, but not arborescent Through coppice-with-standards practice, silviculture was main determining factor for synusiae while support major part remained strongly influenced by substrate. It suggested that has got ‘masking effect’ within managed making uniform tree layers outshine understory vegetation diversity.
