摘要: Abstract Sand and sediment samples were collected from different locations along the beach near to desalination plant, which is one of oldest largest reverse osmosis plants in Saudi Arabia, where fluid waste discharged. The activity concentrations 226 Ra, 232 Th, 40 K 137 Cs measured using gamma-ray spectrometry. Radiation hazard indices calculated evaluate radiological risk for public environment. This study first impacts area under investigation. mean values radium equivalent (Ra eq ) 74.1 Bq kg −1 surface sand samples, 78.8 Bq kg subsurface 78.1 Bq kg sediments. gamma absorbed dose rate ( D air annual effective E analyzed lower than acceptable values. external radiation unity all samples.
