摘要: Abstract Objective: Our aim was to assess current demand for care of pelvic floor disorders and create projections future care. We also sought better understand the characteristics women seeking Study Design: Current calculated by comparing those through female clinic with same age range at risk within an integrated health delivery program. Patients underwent complete urogynecologic evaluation including cystometry. Women were compared regard age, distribution conditions (pelvic organ prolapse, stress conditions, urge conditions), probability undergoing surgery. Modeling study population use data from US Census Bureau, which projects changes over next 30 years, created predictions demand. Results: Data available on 2070 consecutive patients 89 years normally distributed around a median 61.5 drawn at-risk 149,000 aged years. Older generated more consults per 1000 woman than did younger cohorts (1.7 vs 18.6 30-39 old 70-79 old; P Conclusions: Over growth in services will increase twice rate population. Demand comes wide women, although mature groups generate 10 times number as do their counterparts. Age plays major role present. These findings have broad implications responsible administering programs allocating research funds women's geriatrics, training physicians meet this rapidly escalating (Am J Obstet Gynecol 2001;184:1496-503.)
