摘要: We present a VLA image of the Vela X region, nebula thought to be powered by young pulsar B0833-45, at resolution approximately 13. The morphology this synchrotron is dominated network fine, overlapping linear filaments. brightest filament lies just south PSR B0833-45 and can traced center X, 40' away. This radio appears counterpart an X-ray feature first detected Markwardt & Ogelman (1995). Rather than one-to-one position alignment between them, systematically offset traces eastern boundary feature. consider several models for origin its relation At present, data cannot distinguish whether emission due electrons accelerated in situ or results from compression relativistic wind. suggest possible observations enable us which hypothesis correct.
