Latencies in power systems: A database-based time-delay compensation for memory controllers

摘要: Time-delay is inherent to communications schemes in power systems, and a closed loop strategy the presence of latencies increases inter-area oscillations security problems tie-lines. Recently, Wide Area Measurement Systems (WAMS) have been introduced improve observability overcome slow-rate from traditional Supervisory Control Data Acquisition (SCADA). However, there need for tackling time-delays control strategies based WAMS. For this purpose, paper proposes an Enhanced Time Delay Compensator (ETDC) approach which manages varying time delays introducing perspective network latency instead dead time; also, ETDC takes advantage real signals measurements transmission procedure WAMS building closed-loop memory systems. The strength proposal was tested satisfactorily widely studied benchmark model were excited properly.
