摘要: An alternative set of construas for intergenerational relation(ship)s, Post-Solidarity, is presented and empirically tested. Post-Solidarity comprehends not only traditional positive consensual dimensions within-primary-group (or "family") relation(ships) but also the ambivalence, conflict, fluidity, indeterminacy so characteristic social life in Postmodern America (and, perhaps. Western Europe). A series measurement, mean-comparison, regression analyses, evaluating nomothetic predictive viability against currently dominant conceptualization relation(ship)s as either solidary or fatally conflictual, generated results that suggest preliminary support an more appropriate contemporary reIation(ship)s.
