摘要: The argument of this book is that the earliest tradition Western rhetoric, classical perspective Aristotle and Cicero, continues to have greatest impact on writing instruction--albeit an unconscious impact. This occurs despite fact modern rhetoric no longer accepts either views mind, language, world underlying ancient theory or concepts about discourse, knowledge, communication presented in theory. As a result, teachers are depending ideas as outmoded they unreflectively accepted. Knoblauch Brannon maintain two traditions fundamentally incompatible their assumptions concepts, so must make choices between them if teaching be purposeful consistent. They suggest offers richer basis for instruction, show what from looks like how it differs traditional teaching.
