摘要: Coal mining generates a number of significant environmental impacts. Due to its synoptic coverage and repetitive data acquisition capabilities, remote sensing has been extensively used monitor effects surface mining. Availability low cost high resolution in recent years focused increased attention on the use satellite for monitoring activity. This article presents an overview some important studies that have airborne assess impacts coal reclamation activities. Detection delineation subsurface mine fires using remotely-sensed thermal is also briefly discussed. The utility interfacing Geographic Information Systems effective management areas emphasized.
