摘要: An experiment using 81 crossbred swine was conducted to evaluate quantitative and percentage chemical compositional changes of from 1.5 kg (birth) 145 body weight. Groups eight pigs were sacrificed at 1.5, 6.4 18 kg, then increments kg. Body composition determined by grinding the entire body, minus digesta, partitioning carcass other components chemically analyzing each subsample. Results indicated that weight increased linearly with live weight, while total quadratically. Percentage fat in empty (ingesta-free) rapidly birth weaning (6.4 kg), plateaued until 36 increased, water declined dramatically but more gradually protein after 54 When expressed on a fat-free basis, decreased curvilinear manner increasing animal curvilinearly inverse change water. Constancy ("chemical maturity") between not attained an absolute water, weight; rate deposition faster during latter growth stages had declining rates. Logarithmic quadratic equations relating similar R2 lower coefficients variation than linear or semilog functions. Gilts contained less barrows slaughter weights, sex differences apparent when basis. The fattening process reflected several measurements. Backfat thickness, longissimus muscle area length as pig increased.
