摘要: Infectious and thrombotic complications limit the long-term use of subcutaneous ports as venous accesses for children with haemophilia. This study has evaluated first time safety feasibility internal arteriovenous fistulae (AVF) alternative accesses. During 3-year period, 27 severe haemophiliacs, 14 factor VIII inhibitors (52%), underwent creation 31 proximal AVF in forearm. Mild forearm haematomas were observed after five procedures (16%) patients who had or developed surgery. Inadequate maturation was four children. accessed a median 42 d regularly used at home by 26 (96%) follow-up period 29 months. Thrombosis branch occurred one (3%) 9 months uncomplicated child inhibitor spontaneously recovered from symptoms still nine additional symptoms, referable to distal ischaemia, transiently reported two (7%) needed no remedial intervention. demonstrates that haemophiliacs enabled treatment all but one.
