摘要: Children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are at increased risk of vaccine preventable diseases (VPD). This includes invasive pneumococcal influenza. The primary aim this study was to describe compliance current Australian guidelines for vaccination children diagnosed IBD. A secondary review the serological screening VPD. random sample patients (0-18 years diagnosis), were selected from Victoria Australia state based Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Register. multi-faceted retrospective immunization status undertaken, hospital records audited, a telephone interview survey conducted consenting parents history checked against care physician Childhood Immunization Register (ACIR) records. routine childhood vaccinations administration recommended additional influenza vaccines clarified. 2007 audit reviewed 101individuals on Victorian IBD database. Median age diagnosis 12.1 years, 50% active immunosuppressive therapy. 90% (38/42) [95% confidence intervals (CI) 77%; 97%] complete information up-to-date immunizations. Only 5% (5/101) CI 2%; 11%] received booster 10% (10/101) 5%; 17%] had evidence having ever seasonal vaccine. Those living in rural (p = 0.005) younger 0.002) more likely have an Serological testing, reviewing historical protection VPD, identified 18% (17/94) least one serology sample. highlights poor vaccines. approach is required maximize VPD vulnerable special population.
