摘要: Battery electric vehicles are rapidly entering the market. Their success offers great opportunities for decarbonization of transport sector, but also pose new challenges to energy infrastructures. Public charging stations must be built and power grids may become congested. In this article, we analyze optimal layout operation systems along highways using a high-resolution optimization model. We discuss economic viability identify potential roadblocks impeding rapid build-up mobility. find that congestion regional distribution becomes serious issue already moderate market penetration vehicles. While peak loads can handled by battery storage systems, grid connection fundamentally limits total amount cars served per day. Our results further highlight interdependency different sectors importance infrastructures during transformation sustainable system. Given long time period needed planning realization infrastructure measures, decisions imperative.
