摘要: There has been considerable research on North–South issues climate change; however, little work done how the recent discovery of oil in some developing countries could affect relations, prospects for development South, change and local socio-environmental issues. Using theory inclusive development, concept Right to Development, their relation stranded assets, this paper addresses question: what does imply at national global level dealing with extraction context change? Based a literature review layered case study Kenya, concludes that (a) Kenyans argue Kenya right extract use resources rich should reduce use; (b) such claim be integrated an appropriate emissions trading scheme; (c) also account socioecological aspects potential conflict, yet conditions favoring are not established. However, argument may lead perverse results. If addressing requires phasing out fossil fuels, assets both developed countries, ironically leave poorer off as possibly more expensive than having resources.
