摘要: Shear stresses play an important role in vascular biology health and disease. While disturbed flows with low shear the bends bifurcations of arterial tree are atherogenic, laminar high straight part vessel is atheroresistant. Thus, elucidation mechanotransduction mechanism endothelial cells response to stress has become research topic among bioengineers biologists. Here a summary studies performed Dr. Shu Chien's laboratory on stress-induced signal transduction gene expression during period from 1992-1999.
