摘要: The growing popularity of horse keeping is accompanied by an increase phosphorus (P) and faecal micro-organisms from outdoor paddocks. We used indoor rainfall simulation to monitor  concentrations dissolved reactive P (DRP) coliforms in runoff percolation water different paddock footings. Drainage was also monitored two paddocks constructed woodchips. Sand retained more DRP (p<0.0001) than Some the footings were amended with P-sorbing materials, such as [Ca(OH)2], [Fe2(SO4)3], or Fe-gypsum, retain DRP. High concentrations (17–18 mg l-1) observed a woodchip footing earlier Ca(OH)2 sand CaCO3. However, application Fe-gypsum woodchips decreased load 83% compared without Fe-gypsum. Fe compounds better Ca compounds. decrease usually small due modest pH changes water.
