摘要: In tropical forest, landscape fragmentation and the consequent degradation of disturbed forests increase incidence light dry hot winds, causing a disturbance on natural regeneration. Under these conditions, lianas (woody vines) development is stimulated instead other species, which are more suited to mature forest under less influence edge effect. For this, colonization an important variable for assessing level forest. this context, it becomes understand nature competitive relationships between hyper-abundant ring growth host trees. Here, we selected trees with occupation or absence from two species – Pinus caribaea var. hondurensis (Caribbean pine) Tectona grandis (teak) localized in semideciduous fragment southeastern Brazil, aiming compare growth, climatic response, anatomy (vessels intra-annual density fluctuations), wood carbon, by tree-ring analysis. The results showed that caused change last 10 years, mainly. We observed occupied had decrease radial carbon vessels size teak IADF frequency Caribbean pine. teak, climate-tree relationship indicated lower response rainfall higher temperature summer (rainy hottest period); pine, 2-month delay season. group, values than liana-free tree outer rings, opposite was These findings show strong bioindicator aggressive lianas. believe methods applicable future studies relating effects habitat biodiversity ecosystem services, particularly context global climate change.
