摘要: Abstract Analysis of seventy published papers dealing with Mexican Upper Cretaceous rudists, together consultation the newest geological maps covering areas mentioned rudist fossil localities, evidenced that: a) several among Turonian-Maastrichtian species are junior synonymies, nomen nudum, insufficiently described, or have untraceable types. According to modern standards, around sixty seem acceptable, Antillocaprinidae (12), Hippuritidae (11), Plagioptychidae (9), and Radiolitidae (27). Only three (Turonian) common Eurasia. All Santonian-Maastrichtian rudists (54) exclusively American species, either ascribed Eurasian (9) (21) genera. b) Research on helped improve stratigraphy in some areas, point out clear up issues others. c) The restudy geology collections museums, groups, much necessary must be undertaken.
