摘要: (1) Background: among all types of radiation, very heavy ions, such as Neon (Ne) or Argon (Ar), are the optimum candidates for hypoxic tumor treatments due to their reduced oxygen enhancement effect. However, pioneering clinical use in 1970s was halted severe side effects. The aim this work provide a first proof that combination ions with minibeam radiation therapy leads minimization toxicities and, thus, opening door renewed therapy; (2) Methods: mouse legs were irradiated either Ne MBRT broad beams at same average dose. Skin toxicity scored period four weeks. Histopathology evaluations carried out end study; (3) Results: significant difference observed between two groups. While da-mage, including necrosis, beam group, only light mild erythema present group; (4) Conclusion: is significantly better tolerated than conventional irradiations.
