摘要: Abstract A new approach to the study of combustion phenomena in a flow-type apparatus consists measuring exothermicities complex reactions taking place when mixture hydrocarbon, oxygen and nitrogen is heated various temperatures up including auto-ignition temperature. The resultant plot such data, i.e. exothermicity versus temperature, has been designated as ‘thermal profile’. thermal profile can delineate all typical regions, precool-flame, cool-flame, negative temperature coefficient auto-ignition. These studies include variations hydrocarbon concentration, residence time structure. dramatic influence reactant ratio on becomes apparent from these data. correspondence was found between profiles octane numbers for respective hydrocarbons. Some interesting applications this blends, effects certain antiknocks n -hexane-oxygen reactions.
