摘要: BACKGROUND We investigate to what extent pain in older individuals is predicted by on the one hand chronic morbidity as a resistance deficit, and other psychological resources sense of coherence. For first time, we tested salutogenic hypothesis that coherence mediates relationship between resources/deficits pain. RESULTS Using hierarchical regression, found were only significant predictors pain, with showing strongest effect. path analysis, was mediator CONCLUSIONS With respect analytical model, which experience criterion variable, are important Moreover, evidence for idea represents variable it pools resistance/deficits influences recommend prospective design explore these assumed causal chains future research.
