Thermal characteristics in a nanometer scale

摘要: As examples of studies on thermal characteristics materials with a nanometer scale two topics are discussed. One is heat capacity and conductivity small at low temperatures. It based upon the recent findings that depends limited number phonon modes in angular frequency region distinct characteristic appearance quantized conductance transfer through narrow wire hundreds nm. The other thermophysical properties ordinary interface. disordered structure appearing interfacial width few nm discussed, which comparable to mean free path, should be taken into account reveal behavior room temperature.
