摘要: No nationwide studies of the incidence rate clinical mastitis (IRCM) have been conducted in Canada. Because IRCM and distribution mastitis-causing bacteria may show substantial geographic variation, primary objective this study was to determine regional pathogen-specific on Canadian dairy farms. Additionally, association with bulk milk somatic cell count (BMSCC) barn type were determined. In total, 106 farms 10 provinces Canada participated for a period 1 yr. Participating producers recorded 3,149 cases mastitis. The most frequently isolated pathogens Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus uberis, coagulase-negative staphylococci. Overall mean median 23.0 16.7 per 100 cow-years selected herds, respectively, range from 0.7 97.4 herd. between BMSCC overall found, but E. coli culture-negative highest Staph. aureus lowest low medium herds. Strep. dysgalactiae Western provinces. Quebec. Cows tie-stalls had higher incidences staphylococci, other streptococcal compared those free-stalls, whereas cows free stalls Klebsiella spp. than tie-stall barns. focus prevention control programs should differ regions be tailored based housing BMSCC.
