摘要: Wheat is the second most important cereal crop of world occupying about 220 million hectares area (mha) with a production 716 tons and accounts for 20% dietary protein people across world. Due to its significant contribution global food security, it very much essential maintain steady state in production. Most wheat growing regions are affected by multiple abiotic stresses like drought, heat, salinity water logging, either alone or combination. It has been predicted that yield will be lowered 22% coming years due changes temperature rainfall. An estimated 65 mha worldwide would drought. Hence, having comprehensive knowledge on existing information major their physiological molecular basis help us address future research gaps. A compilation different stress adaptive mechanisms, associated traits, markers, cascade gene networks involved development transgenic drought heat tolerance presented. This inclusive useful researchers further improvement.
