摘要: This study was conducted to identify factors that influenced stress, healthy eating and physical activity among low-income overweight or obese pregnant women. We seven focus groups with 96 Common themes were identified from audio tapes transcripts. Women said poor communication affected their relationships spouses significant others. They frustrated upset others for three key reasons: failure understand listen the women’s pregnancy concerns, refusal be helpful when asked being overly concerned woman’s safety. Most women they emotional took naps throughout day after becoming pregnant. Many withdrew social interactions. also faced numerous challenges made more difficult, e.g., craving unhealthy foods comfort. To eat healthier, some reminded themselves avoid overeating stop in car. not physically active because of tiredness, lack motivation, inadequate support, bad weather. Some stayed prevent excessive weight gain have an easier labor. equivocally weighing manage would add stress make them feel depressed. When designing interventions help gain, it is important include information practical advice on management, emphasizing effective skills helping plan ways negative feelings.
