Beet rapidly became an important article world trade and now supplies about 45% world’s commerce. primary source USSR. About one-third used United States comes domestically beets. Sugar are 13 states three provinces Canada. In States, gross yield roots averages 40–50 tons per hectare, which 7 obtained. Under favorable conditions, yields 50–75 may be produced. sucrose stored normally ranges to 18% weight, varying with variety, its culture, climate grown. An inverse ratio between tonnage percentage exists; hectare increased, either cultural methods or breeding, tends decline.
