摘要: Abstract Ovarian carcinoma accounts for greater than 50% of the gynecologic cancer deaths in United States each year. One central reasons this dismal outcome is that many patients present with advanced disease. In series, a retrospective review 130 stage III and IV invasive epithelial ovarian was performed to determine prognostic significance ascites. Patients were divided into two study groups based upon presence or absence Survival entire group 15%, but differed markedly when separated these patients, ascites associated statistically decreased 5-year survival 5% versus 45% without ( P = 0.0001). Individuals found be similar examined age, height, weight, cell type, grade, surgical chemotherapeutic treatment modalities. More proportionately IIIC disease had those 0.0015). individuals underwent second-look laparotomies achieved negative result 0.04; 0.0038). We conclude produces an almost uniformly fatal outcome.
