摘要: To investigate the effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) on acute renal injury (ARI), we used here a rat model tubular necrosis induced by anticancer drug cisplatin (CP). GABA was given orally (100 or 500 mg/kg/day for ten consecutive days), and 6th day, some treated rats were also injected intraperitoneally with either saline CP (6 mg/kg). Four days after treatment, urine collected from all rats, which then anaesthetized blood pressure flow monitoring. This followed intravenous injection norepinephrine assessment vasoconstrictor responses. Thereafter, kidneys measurement several functional, biochemical structural parameters. treatment (at 500 but not 100 mg/kg) significantly mitigated measured physiological indices. Sections saline- GABA-treated showed apparently normal proximal tubules. However, CP-treated had moderate degree necrosis. markedly lessened when simultaneously (500 mg/kg). The concentration platinum in cortical tissues altered treatment. results suggested that can ameliorate nephrotoxicity rats. Pending further pharmacological toxicological studies, may be considered potentially useful nephroprotective agent CP-induced ARI.
