摘要: Improving water management depends on understanding the functioning of irrigation and drainage systems across different environmental scales. For this purpose, study in Nile Delta Egypt particularly examines spatial temporal variation salinity from system to plot level. A better nested scales is crucial refine government’s reuse strategy reduce adverse effects agricultural productivity, lagoon ecology, human health. The investigates Meet Yazid area (82,740 ha) located upper central part Delta. parameters measured were electrical conductivity (EC), dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, temperature. Results showed that quality vary highly with space time. secondary drains exhibited highest variability compared main subsurface collectors because they accumulate salts deeper soil layers seepage saline groundwater at time low flow discharge. In drains, increased up four times coming collectors. Moreover, DO values most not meeting standards for irrigation, especially collect only but also untreated household sewage water.
