Intestinal Lipodystrophy (Whipple's Disease) Amenable to Corticosteroid Therapy

摘要: lipodystrophy in a 36-year old physician, 54 cases have been reported the literature.~-l1 Almost all of were diagnosed at autopsy, and only few vivo by exploratory laparotomy biopsy mesenteric lymph nodes or small intestine. Treatment had uniformly unsuccessful, with fatal termination 1 to 5 years after onset illness. Only recently corticotropin, cortisone hydrocortisone used treatment this disease encouraging results. Mendes De Leon Coenegracht,5 Jones et al} Plummer al.,9 Radding Fiese,1° Lepore ll each case intestinal which responded favorably corticosteroid therapy. We wish present study another patient disease-to our knowledge, 55th literature. This has subjected three prolonged courses therapy during an observation period 4Y2 years. It led impression that in­ testinal is controllable perhaps curable disease. CASE REPORT
