摘要: Background. Nonmedical prescription drug use (NMPDU) is an increasing problem, insufficiently studied among people in opioid maintenance treatment (OMT). This study investigates the prevalence of and factors associated with NMPDU for classes described opioid-dependent populations, including antihistaminergic anxiolytics central stimulants. Methods. Study participants were recruited at two OMT clinics Malmo, Sweden, between October 2014 December 2015 () interviewed about their use, motivations acquisition administration drugs. Results. The majority sample reported lifetime NMPDU: 60% benzodiazepine-like hypnotics (z-drugs), 21% pregabalin, 19% stimulants, 12%–15% anxiolytics. Lower age was nonmedical benzodiazepine (Adjusted Odds Ratio = 0.89; 95% Confidence Interval 0.82–0.97). Illicit by 61% using z-drugs, 46% 38% but only 6–10% Conclusions. substantial stimulants found this suggests that clinicians should prescribe these drugs great caution. does not seem to be a clinical issue Swedish setting, we propose future studies monitor use.
