摘要: Most African elephant (Loxodonta africana africana) populations are isolated and thus threatened by a loss of genetic diversity. As consequence, analysis will play an increasing role in their conservation, microsatellite loci be important tool these analyses. Previously published sets polymorphic microsatellites developed for elephants all dinucleotide repeats, which prone to typing error. Here, we characterize 11 tetranucleotide the elephant. All were 32 faecal samples two tissue from 33 individual savannah elephants.
