摘要: Abstract Coral reefs are highly productive ecosystems that provide a variety of valuable goods and services, including recreational opportunities. The open-access nature public good characteristics coral often result in them being undervalued decision making related to their use conservation. In response this, there now exists substantial economic valuation literature on reefs. For the purposes conducting meta-analysis this literature, we collected 166 reef studies, 52 which provided sufficient information for statistical meta-analysis, yielding 100 separate value observations total. Focusing values, US$ per visit as dependent variable our meta-analysis. meta-regression results reveal number important factors explaining variation notably area dive sites visitors. Different methods shown produce widely different with contingent method producing significantly lower estimates.
