Effect of Ply Orientation on Strength and Failure Mode of Pin Jointed Unidirectional Glass-epoxy Nanoclay Laminates

摘要: In the present work effect of different ply orientations and nano filler on bearing strength failure mode pin joints is investigated both experimentally numerically. Glass-epoxy composite laminates were prepared with [0°/45°/90°], [0°/45°/0°] [0°/90°/0°] orientations. Nanoclay 1, 2, 3, 4 5wt% added in epoxy for said to prepare joints. Results show that drastically dependent nanofiller wt%. The joint geometry i.e., distance from free edge specimen diameter hole (E/D) ratio width holes (W/D) also which effected Tsai-Wu theory along characteristics curve method was used prediction modes
