摘要: Abstract This paper presents a prototype model developed for case study linking chemical risk information with life cycle assessment (LCA) approach to product development. Standard LCA software was used develop tool combining and Risk Phrase health environmental hazards encompassed by new European chemicals directives. Real development cases are based on Ostfold Research's collaboration industry – specifically coatings company. The principal objective of the work investigate degree which hazardous could be combined elements methodology better inform also shows how equips developers move beyond limited insight provided pure approach, consider hazard aspects in functional perspective typical LCA. allows identification differences priorities resulting from two approaches. Some results testing presented its application within company other companies is discussed. this falls short aim including full perspective, but represents an important first step towards achieving this. demonstrates that some integration approaches practicable, indicates such gives rise changes priorities. Combining valuable decision makers, designers. makes it possible makers combine unit information, enabling designers reduce product's risk.
