摘要: Self-perceived uselessness is associated with poorer health in older adults. However, it unclear whether there a difference self-perceived between centenarians and non-centenarians, if so, which factors contributed to the difference. We used four waves of nationwide longitudinal dataset from 2005 2014 China investigate these research goals. first performed multinomial logit regression models examine risk high or moderate frequency relative low among (5778 persons) comparison non-centenarians aged 65–99 (20,846 persons). then conducted cohort analysis for those born 1906–1913, examining differences died ages 91 99 during 2005–2014. Compared persons 65–79, had 84% (relative ratio (RRR) = 1.84, 95% CI:1.69–2.01) 35% (RRR = 1.35, CI: 1.25–1.46) higher have feeling useless versus frequency, respectively, when only demographic were controlled for. 31% (RRR = 0.69, 0.54–0.88), 43% (RRR = 0.57, 0.49–0.68), 25% (RRR = 0.75, 0.67–0.83) lower risk, the high the low wide set study covariates In case uselessness, corresponding figures 18% (RRR = 0.82, 0.66–1.02), 22% (RRR = 0.78, 95%CI: 0.67–0.90), 13% (RRR = 0.87, 0.79–0.96), respectively. The further indicates that who became 36–39% less likely than at 91–94 report the moderate frequencies frequency; no was found 95–99. both period analyses, behavioral health-related affected perception substantially. Overall, perceive themselves as compared younger birth cohorts when considered and same cohort. How manage do so remains an open question. Our findings may help improve our understanding about longevity secrets centenarians.
